The Spiritual Concept of Self Confidence

The Spiritual Concept of Faith is the highest of all the forms of positive energy known to man.  As positive energy exists to help us create the visible (matter) out of things that are not seen (energy), that is to pull our expectations and imaginations from the world of thought (spiritual) toward us in the world of reality (physical), so do negative energy such as worry, anxiety, and fear also exist to further draw us away from reaching our set goals.  In order to convert positive energy to matter that aligns with purposes defined in our Definite Chief Aim therefore, we must eliminate every form of fear in our life.  Whether these fears are superstitious, socially inherited or self-suggested, we must consciously uproot them from our mind if we must attract enough energy to create the kind of positive life we desire.  Spiritual Concept

Basically, human beings have inherited six kinds of fear from its physical and from its social environments. These fears are:

  • The fear of Poverty
  • The fear of Old Age
  • The fear of Criticism
  • The fear of Loss of Love of Someone
  • The fear of Ill Health
  • The fear of Death

Fear is an evil that we must willfully avoid if we must reach our purpose.  We cannot attain our maximum potential with fear in our life.  While the complete literature on how to eliminate fear in our life is beyond the scope of this book, the adoption and practice of this formula can help to reduce fear:  Spiritual Concept

Self-confidence Formula

First: I know that God has given me the ability to achieve the object of my definite purpose; therefore I demand of myself persistent, aggressive and continuous action toward its attainment.

Second: I realize that the dominating thoughts of my mind eventually reproduce themselves in outward, bodily action, and gradually transform themselves into physical reality; therefore I will concentrate my mind for thirty minutes daily upon the task of thinking of the person I intend to be, by creating a mental picture of this person and then transforming that picture into reality through practical service.

Third: I know that through the principle of Autosuggestion any desire that I persistently hold in my mind will eventually seek expression through some practical means of realizing it; therefore I shall devote ten minutes daily to demanding of myself the development of the knowledge gained in this book.

Fourth: I have clearly mapped out and written down a description of my definite purpose in life. I have set a price on my services for the next five years; a price that I intend to earn and receive, through strict application of the principle of efficient, satisfactory service that I will render.  Spiritual Concept

Fifth: I fully realize that no wealth or position can long endure unless built upon truth and justice; therefore I will engage in no transaction which does not benefit all whom it affects. I will succeed by attracting to me the forces I wish to use, and the co-operation of other people. I will induce others to serve me because I will first serve them. I will eliminate hatred, envy, jealousy, and selfishness by developing love for all humanity, because I know that a negative attitude toward others can never bring me success. I will cause others to believe in me because I will believe in them and in myself.

I will sign my name to this formula, commit it to memory and repeat it aloud once a day with full faith that it will gradually influence my entire life so that I will become a successful and happy worker in my chosen field of endeavor.   So help me God.
